Day 1: Šenk homestead – the Jezerski vrh pass (Seeberg saddle) – Pristovški Storžič –the Jezerski vrh pass (Seeberg saddle) – Šenk homestead

In the early afternoon, we expect you at Šenk homestead. After the check-in, you will settle in your room/apartment or set up your tent. It is time for your first warm-up hike! The most enthusiastic hikers can start their hike right at our homestead. Pass our camp and continue to the main road where you turn right and continue to the Jezerski vrh pass. All the little less enthusiastic hikers can drive to the pass and park there. The trail is very well marked (just follow signs in colours of the Austrian flag – red and white). For the ascent, you can choose a shorter, but a bit more demanding trail that starts at the forest road and then leads you across a meadow and along the ridge to the north-western side of the mountain. Some parts of the trail are a bit exposed and require more caution. At the top Pristovški Storžič stands a big iron cross. Pristovški Storžič will reward you with one of the most beautiful views. From the top you can see all over the Valley of Jezersko, neighbouring Austria (Kärnten), the Karawanken and even to the Julian Alps. For your descent, you can take the same trail or choose another, less demanding trail (past »Pastirkov vrh« and »Skalarjeva planina«). Return to Šenk homestead where you are served delicious dinner. Overnight stay.

After an hour of hike, you reach the Jenkova planina highland, where you turn right and continue to Mt. Mala Baba. From Mt. Mala Baba trail becomes more exposed and very demanding. Be very careful! After a short descent, you reach the top of Velika Baba.
